The Linear Shower Drain Offset Outlet is ideal for installations where a traditional center outlet isn’t practical. Use this drain in the following situations:

• When a structural joist is located in the center of the shower floor area, and cutting, notching, or drilling into it isn’t an option due to building codes or structural concerns.
• When the shower is built over 4 inches or more of concrete, such as in slab-on-grade construction (a foundation where the concrete slab is poured directly on the ground). In these cases, relocating plumbing is costly and labor-intensive.
• When the existing vertical drain outlet is already positioned toward the side of the shower, and aligning the side outlet linear drain with the current plumbing saves time and money.

This side outlet configuration allows for flexible placement and is especially useful in remodels or concrete-based builds.
